Can you take a photo of us?

Walking the streets looking for my urban shoots today. Actually I was coming from a meeting with colleagues. Trying to ditch them so I could concentrate on my photography. I need my time alone like everybody else. I am not too keen on walking with other people when I am photographing.

Two women jumped in front of me in the middle of a conversation. “Can you take a photo of us?” Ok so all the training and experience came to a test. Lens cap, ISO, am I in aperture priority or manual mode, where is my focus point, what kind of image are they looking for, what do they want with it? A train full of thoughts went through my mind. And on top of it all came the words of the Norwegian photographer Morten Krogvold: “stop thinking too much”. So I did. Stopped. Took their photo. They went. And as they walked away I shouted: “who are you?”

“Don’t you know? You’ll find out.” I probably won’t.
